By pooling resources the DVHCC is able to achieve economies of scale and other advantages previously available only to large corporations or very large cities. This arrangement enables Union and Labor Funds to lower the ultimate cost of dental benefits. Typical savings are at 10-15%.
The Delaware Valley Health Care Coalition (DVHCC) began its relationship with Delta Dental in March of 1998. Delta Dental is the largest and most experienced dental benefits carrier in the United States, they provide coverage to more than 89million people enrolled in more than 130,000+ groups.

- Participating dentist network discounting
- Efficient claims processing
- Coordination of benefits
- Dentist consultant review
Delta Dental Labor Union Involvement
- Many Unions or employers with Unions buy their coverage through Delta Dental.
- Construction at Delta is done by the Building Trades Union.
- The office in Mechanicsburg is organized by IBT and Pennsylvania Joint Board, Local 170, an affiliate of Workers United and SEIU.
- Recognized by the AFL-CIO as “Union Label Product”.
- All printing is done by Union Printers.
